Overview

Physiotherapy is a branch of medicine that, by using mechanical force and movements, manual therapy, exercise therapy and electrotherapy modalities, remediates impairments and promotes mobility and function.
Physiotherapy is used to improve a patient’s quality of life through examination (assessment), diagnosis, prognosis, physical intervention and rehabilitation.
In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physical therapy profession include research, education, consultation, and administration.
Physiotherapy services may be provided as primary care treatment or in conjunction with, other medical services.

The goals are to help joints movements, restore physical function, increase flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, and/or balance.

Some of the needs physiotherapists address includes:

• Cardio respiratory system
• Palliative care
• Continence and women’s health
• Geriatric condition
• Musculoskeletal condition
• Neurology disorders
• Orthopedic /various deformities
• Pediatric condition
• Pain management

• Community based Rehabilitation

MISSION : To provide quality services to population according to international standards, promote professional competencies in Prosthetics and orthotics, teach and contribute in research.

VISION : To be « leader » in providing quality health care services, training and research.

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE SERVICE
There are 3 staffs in Orthopedic Workshop, all with Advanced diploma in Prosthetics and orthotics.

OBJECTIVES
• Improve the quality of orthopedic devices delivered to clients,
• Meet regularly in order to promote team working, more organize daily activities of the service and achieve much goals together,
• Develop and implement policies and procedures,
• Improve our level of knowledges and skills by attending different trainings,
• Participate in research programs and train interns and students during their clinical placement,
• Participate in accreditation process of the hospital,
• Inform population about prevention of no communicable diseases.
